Fall update: our first board meeting, NVIDIA Inception, and what comes next
This fall has been a busy one for Lucid Bridge. Here is where things stand.
Our first board meeting
LucidBridge, Inc. recently held its first board meeting. The board reviewed our progress, our safety architecture, and our plans for the coming year. Having a board in place gives the company the oversight a project like this needs.
We joined NVIDIA Inception
LucidBridge, Inc. joined the NVIDIA Inception program in October 2026. The program supports startups building with AI. Membership gives us access to technical resources and a community of companies working on hard problems.
The CARE-SAT pilot
Our pilot study, CARE-SAT, is in preparation. It is an eight-week feasibility study with caregiver and patient pairs, pre-specified endpoints, and a definition of failure written down before the first session. We plan to report the results whether or not they flatter us.
Our ethics commitment
The Institute for AI Ethics in Human Cognition remains the ethical heart of Lucid Bridge. As AI changes how people live and care for each other, the Institute's standards are our compass. Responsibility for care stays with people. Lucid Bridge uses a caregiver's own voice and likeness, with their consent, because familiarity comforts, and it never claims to be the real person. The CARE-SAT pilot is designed to test whether that familiar presence eases distress for patients and reduces stress and guilt for caregivers. Our first goal is to take the stress and guilt out of communication between caregivers and their loved ones, so caregivers can spend more hours together with them, and the caregiver stays the gatekeeper for every memory the carevatar learns.
Help connecting with funders
We are pleased to be working with a renowned matchmaker who connects startups with funders. That work will help us find partners who share our view that care technology should be careful technology.
We are seeking advisors
We are looking for clinicians, bioethicists, and researchers who know dementia care and human-computer interaction. The role is flexible, and we want people who will tell us where the design is wrong before the pilot runs. If that is you, write to brian@lucidbridge.net.
More to come
We have more exciting news on the way that we cannot share just yet. We look forward to telling you about it soon.
